Indian star batter Virat Kohli has been out of action lately and sources indicate that the player will have to prove his worth in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) in order to book himself a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 lineup. However, many fans and player are not in the favour of this thought and believe that King Kohli deserves a spot in each and every Team India squad.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has strongly criticized those questioning Virat Kohli's inclusion in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This reaction follows a report in the Telegraph suggesting that Indian selectors are contemplating leaving Kohli out of the squad for the prestigious event in the West Indies and the USA. Kohli had been absent from the T20 setup for over 14 months before making a comeback earlier this year during the series against Afghanistan.

"He won the matches in recent times, it's not fair to raise questions on his place. Those questioning Virat Kohli's place in the T20 World Cup belong in gully cricket. I don't have any second thoughts about it, you can't make your team without Virat Kohli because he is a very big batter," Irfan told News 24.

Dismissing the notion of Kohli's exclusion from the squad, Irfan condemned the critics of the player. He emphasized Kohli's significance by highlighting how the star batsman single-handedly influenced victories for the team during the ODI World Cup last year.
