This moment contrasted sharply with their heated confrontation during IPL 2023 when RCB faced off against Lucknow Super Giants, where Gambhir served as a mentor. The incident also involved Naveen-ul-Haq, the fast bowler for LSG.

Previously, Kohli shared a hug with Naveen during an ODI World Cup 2023 match. However, Kohli recently disclosed his thoughts on people's reactions to his hugs.

At an event, Virat Kohli expressed, "People are disappointed by my behavior. I hugged Naveen. Then the other day Gauti bhai came and hugged me. Because your masala got over, you are doing 'wooh wooh'." His mention of Gautam Gambhir's name led to shouts from the audience.

While Kohli may perceive that people are disappointed, former Indian cricket team stars have actually appreciated the gesture. Former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri specifically praised the act.

Former Indian cricket team star Irfan Pathan, who has shared the field with both Gambhir and Kohli, also shared his thoughts on the incident.

Irfan Pathan shared on Star Sports that Gautam Gambhir, despite being the senior figure, took the initiative to reconcile. He emphasized the importance of moving past conflicts and meeting with mutual respect, which was evident in their interaction.
