Reason Behind Team India Wearing Jersey With One Star
The discrepancy of one star is due to the timing of the jersey's design. The Indian team departed for Zimbabwe before the T20 World Cup final, so their jerseys were made before the final match. The updated jersey with two stars was unveiled by Sanju Samson after the players returned from Barbados, albeit after a significant delay.
Thus, the current jerseys lack the second star, but future jerseys will likely feature both stars to acknowledge the two victories. In the match against Zimbabwe, India’s captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to field first.
"We will field first. I think it looks like a good surface. It won't change much later. It has been long coming. We won an ICC event after 11 years. You always have some expectations from yourself. We have three debutants. Sharma, Jurel, and Parag make their debuts," Gill said at the toss.
