Choosing to bat first, DC captain Meg Lanning (23 off 23) and Shafali Verma (44 off 27) showcased a contrasting partnership as they steadily increased the scoring rate.

Lanning, the tournament's second highest run-scorer, played a supporting role while Shafali aggressively accelerated after a slow start in the initial 11 deliveries.
