'You were right and I'm...': Pakistani Journalist Apologizes To Michael Vaughan After England's Victory Over Pakistan

In an unexpected twist on social media, Pakistani journalist Farid Khan has apologized to former England captain Michael Vaughan. This apology comes just days after Farid attacked Vaughan for claiming that playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) would be better preparation for England players ahead of the T20 World Cup than playing against Pakistan. Farid had reacted to Vaughan's remarks by slamming the former England batsman for disrespecting Pakistan cricket.

After England beat Pakistan 2-0 in the four-match series on Thursday, Farid Khan is now siding with Michael Vaughan. He apologized to Vaughan, acknowledging that everything Vaughan had claimed turned out to be true. Notably, two out of the four matches between England and Pakistan were abandoned due to rain.

Farid captioned the video with an apology to Michael Vaughan, stating, 'Hey, Michael Vaughan. I apologize, I'm sorry! You were right, and I'm confused. England players should have participated in the IPL finals. Even a Ranji Trophy team could defeat us, Delhi Capitals, or Punjab Kings. Winning once is achievable, but defending against the Pakistan team worries me. I am concerned about our matches against Canada and the USA in the World Cup. This season marks the worst for Pakistan cricket in years,' alongside an X.

Meanwhile, Vaughan leveled the allegations after the England Cricket Board (ECB) recalled the players to participate in the four-match T20I series against Pakistan just days before the IPL 2024 finals.

On the Club Praire podcast, Vaughan stated, 'I think you're missing the trick by sending all their players home. You know, I believe Will Jacks, Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, especially in the IPL finals, the pressure, the crowd, the expectations. I would argue that playing in the IPL finals provides better preparation than playing a T20 game against Pakistan.'

Vaughan argued that the players would have benefited from finishing the season with their franchises in the IPL.

Vaughan expressed, 'I'm all for international cricket but now and then, especially in this tournament, it faces immense pressure. These players are under huge pressure from fans, owners, and social media. It's significant. While those two and Butler might not be under as much pressure, I still believe he could have remained here.'
