Ashutosh Gowariker Comes On Board As 'Honorary Chairman' Of 10th Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival

Ace filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been appointed as the honorary chairman of the prestigious 10th Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival (AIFF). This time, the event will take place from January 15 to 19, 2025 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Renowned filmmakers Chandrakant Kulkarni, Jayprad Desai, Dnyanesh Zoting and Sunil Sukthankar will be part of the festival.

The official page of the film festival wrote on Instagram, "Official Announcement! We are honoured to welcome the legendary filmmaker Mr. Ashutosh Gowariker, as the Honorary Chairman for the Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival. His vision and passion for cinema will undoubtedly elevate our festival to new heights!"

According to the official website of Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival, the festival 'aims to showcase the best of film produced recently and in the past, in India and other parts of the world' to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. 

The website further wrote, "This festival is a platform for aspiring filmmakers, technicians, artists and young film enthusiasts to encourage them to learn and understand artistic as well as technical aspects of cinema. This festival also aims to be a medium to project Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Previously known as Aurangabad) and Marathwada internationally as the city and region for many opportunities of film production hub, cultural centre in state of Maharashtra."

Ashutosh Gowariker is well known for his films like 'Lagaan', 'Swades' and 'Jodhaa Akbar'. He last directed 'Panipat', with Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. The movie did not work well at the box office. 

He has also been acting in the series like 'Kaala Paani' and 'Maanvat Murders'.
