Indians, who commonly consume paratha, have created innumerable variations of this dish. Paratha, often filled with mashed vegetables, boiled potatoes, finely grated paneer, or even non-vegetarian ingredients like minced chicken, egg, and mutton, serves as a staple diet in many Indian households. Indians have extensively experimented with paratha.

However, a video going viral on social media has shocked everyone. The video shows the shopkeeper deep-frying the paratha in diesel fuel! Yes, you read that correctly, it's DIESEL! "Eating this tastes like kachori," remarked the person behind the camera. This unorthodox method of preparing paratha has attracted significant attention on social media, prompting netizens to tag FSSAI, the country's food regulator, expressing concern.

Diesel Fried Paratha Goes Viral

The video, titled "True recipe for cancer (petrol diesel wala paratha) Where are we heading?" has been shared on X (formerly Twitter). The shocking video and concept behind this recipe come at a time when the ICMR-NIN recently released dietary guidelines for Indians of all age groups, urging everyone to consume a clean and nutritious diet. In the dietary guidelines, the ICMR emphasized that more than 56% of non-communicable diseases result from an improper diet.

One user writes, "I have a new list of unhealthy cooking oils: Diesel, Petrol, Seed oils." Another user comments, "He will be buying a Ferrari soon, and his customers will be selling their houses and cars to fund cancer treatment." Yet another X user questions, "Where are food licensing and standards?"

Consuming a variety of nutrient-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats supports a healthy immune system, reduces the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, and enhances optimal physical and mental performance. Individuals can effectively fuel their bodies, maintain a healthy weight, and improve their quality of life by following a balanced diet. It is advisable to avoid viral diet trends on social media and seek a customized diet routine by consulting a dietitian or healthcare professional.
