In a recent controversial LinkedIn post, a tech company CEO Andreas Roettl said that 'firing is as important as hiring.' He wrote a lengthy post claiming that his company focuses on training the team leads to becoming good at firing people.

The tech CEO wrote on LinkedIn, "I'm good at firing people... says no one ever. But we should! He pointed out that while most people avoid such topics, it deserves attention. It keeps team happy and helps strengthen spirit and culture, he added.

Meanwhile, he suggested that other people should do that as well. He asserted that his company trains its leaders in termination practices, equipping them with tools to assess the performance of its employees, such as an early warning system, performance improvement plans, and finding and developing strengths.

He also made the point that workers must be allowed an opportunity to improve before final decisions concerning layoffs are made. Roettl linked the situation to soccer and said that there should be an open 'yellow card' warning.
