A stunning blue meteor illuminated the skies above Spain and Portugal on Saturday evening, leaving spectators in awe. Numerous videos shared on various social media platforms, including the microblogging site X, captured the celestial event as the meteor streaked through the atmosphere.

Reports described sightings of the meteor across hundreds of kilometers, sparking wonder and speculation among observers. While initial reports indicated the meteor's trajectory, its exact landing location remained uncertain.

Speculations varied, with some reports suggesting the meteor may have fallen near the town of Castro Daire, while others mentioned proximity to Pinheiro. Despite extensive searches by firefighters in response to multiple reports, no debris or impact site had been located as of the early hours.

Social media users were astonished by the spectacle, with some marveling at its brilliance and composition, comparing it to magnesium. Others questioned the frequency of such extraordinary occurrences, especially when paired with other celestial phenomena like the aurora borealis and solar eclipses.

One user on X remarked, 'Same month as the Aurora borealis. Why are all these once in a lifetime events happening so close to each other. Makes you wonder if the solar eclipse was a warning.' Another user added, 'While this is a meteor, a more accurate description is the word Bolide. I don’t get to say bolide very often
