Watch Wild Encounter: Deer Smashes Through Moving Bus Windshield In Shocking US Incident
Rhode Island can get a lot of money when it comes down to it. The bus was traveling along Warwick Street when the deer ran off Sachem Avenue and jumped the windshield just after 3 a.m. June 10.
The Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority (RIPTA) released surveillance footage from the bus that showed the deer flying into the air before it almost completely fell on the passenger.
There were six passengers on the bus at the time of the incident, three of whom needed medical attention.
The deer suffered a massive head injury and was still alive after the crash, but died shortly after the crash.
The deer quickly ran away before jumping into the window.

This startled the passenger, who immediately started kicking the deer and sat on the bus seat.
Almost all the other passengers on the bus left their seats and moved away from the aisle.

The moose fell onto its side and more broken glass, but the animal was unable to stand and died of its injuries while on the bus.
Two passengers injured by the glass were taken to the hospital, while the third went to the hospital for treatment.
After his death, officials with the Rhode Island Department of the Environment (DEM) removed the corpse of the moose.
Interim CEO Christopher Durand told the media when RIPTA released images of the crash.
"I want to thank our RIPTA bus driver Leocadio Hernandez for his exemplary response to this unique situation," said Durand.
His extraordinary vigilance and calmness ensured the safety of all passengers. This incident highlights the dedication and professionalism of our drivers in maintaining the highest standards of safety and care in our community.
This crash comes less than a year after AAA Northeast reported an increase in car accidents involving deer in Rhode Island.
