Airplane And Bus-Sized Asteroids To Have Close Encounter With Earth – Should You Be Worried?
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has issued fresh alert on two asteroids approaching Earth. These are Asteroids 2020 GE and 2024 RO11, both of them will pass the Earth on 24 September.
2024 RO11 is bigger in size and said to be of 120 feet nearly as size of an airplane. It will approach Earth at closest distance of 4,580,000 miles. While the other space rock measures around 26 feet and will pass away at a distance of 410,000 miles.
Should You Be Worried?
According to the reports, there will be no risk of collision between the two and will pass one after another. Despite their close proximity to earth they will not be a threat.
NASA’S Jet Propulsion Laboratory has said that these asteroids will have smooth passage and glide swiftly by our earth.
What Are Asteroids?
Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the Sun and are much smaller in size than the planets. It covers a very broad range of Solar System objects, including debris left behind by objects that did not successfully grow into planets. There are lots of asteroids in our solar system which are found in asteroid belt.
Asteroids pass from their belt because of the gravitational pull of other planets and objects in the solar system which changes their orbits.
