Another Hezbollah Leader Killed in Israeli Strike After Nasrallah, Body Discovered in Bombed Bunker

The Israeli military announced the death of another high-ranking Hezbollah official in an airstrike, marking the latest in a series of targeted strikes against the Iran-backed group. Nabil Kaouk, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Preventative Security Unit and a member of their Executive Council, was killed in an airstrike on Saturday. Hezbollah has yet to comment on the incident.

Nabil Kaouk: Key Figure in Hezbollah's Operations

Kaouk, a seasoned Hezbollah commander, had joined the group in the 1980s and played pivotal roles over the years. He previously served as Deputy Commander of the southern region on the Operational Council and was sanctioned by the United States in 2020 for his involvement in Hezbollah’s military operations. The Israeli military claims he was closely associated with Hezbollah's senior commanders and was directly involved in orchestrating terrorist attacks against Israel.

Airstrikes and Technology Disruptions

Israel has intensified its military campaign against Hezbollah in recent weeks. Apart from high-profile airstrikes, Hezbollah has faced technological disruptions, including attacks on its communication systems such as pagers and walkie-talkies. Despite these efforts, Hezbollah has continued firing rockets and missiles into northern Israel, though most have been intercepted or landed in open areas.

Recovery of Hassan Nasrallah's Body

Following Friday’s airstrike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, Israeli forces have continued their offensive, targeting Hezbollah strongholds. On Sunday, Nasrallah’s body was recovered from the bombed bunker in Beirut, where he had been sheltering during the airstrike. Sources told Reuters that his body was found intact.

Israel Continues Targeted Attacks

In addition to Nasrallah's death, Israel has claimed responsibility for killing Hassan Khalil Yassin, a Hezbollah intelligence officer responsible for identifying Israeli military and civilian targets, in an airstrike on Saturday in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Israeli forces continue to carry out waves of airstrikes against "dozens" of Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, resulting in further casualties and widespread destruction. According to Lebanon's health ministry, at least 33 people were killed, and 195 were wounded in strikes on Saturday.

Israel’s military efforts to target Hezbollah leadership appear to be intensifying, with no immediate signs of de-escalation.
