Donald Trump warned that American democracy could be in jeopardy if he doesn't secure victory in the upcoming presidential election, emphasizing potential dire consequences for the nation if he were not re-elected. Trump reiterated his belief that his loss in the 2020 election to Democratic President Joe Biden was due to alleged election fraud.

Trump expressed concern during an outdoor speech in Dayton that if he were to lose the election, he doubted whether there would be another election in the country. The speech was delivered amidst strong winds and included occasional profanity.

In the midst of discussing tariffs on imported cars and foreign competition in the US auto industry, Trump remarked, "If I don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole country."

According to reports, Trump's campaign cited a post on the social media platform X by a journalist to clarify his "bloodbath" comment, stating that it was made in the context of a discussion about the US auto industry and the economy.

In his opening remarks, the former US President honored his supporters who are presently incarcerated for their involvement in the rioting at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, where they attempted to obstruct the certification of Biden's 2020 election victory.

Donald Trump praised and referred to those individuals as "patriots" and "hostages". Additionally, despite facing criminal indictment in Georgia for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election result in the state, Trump has recently secured enough delegates to formally clinch the Republican nomination. A potential rematch between Trump and Biden in the general election is anticipated to be highly competitive.
