Iranian President's Daughter Released: The daughter of former Iranian president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani was released Wednesday after spending two years in Tehran's Evin prison, Iran's media reported.

Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, 61 years old, was arrested in September 2022 for allegedly inciting people to join protests after Mahsa Amini died while she was being detained for allegedly violating Iran's harsh dress code for women.
Iranian President's Daughter Released From Tehran Prison
Women's rights activist and former parliamentarian Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani has been released from a Tehran prison following a ruling by an appeal court, her lawyer, Mohammad Hossein Aghassi, told the Hammihan newspaper.
In 2012, Hashemi was twice convicted as a distributor of propaganda against the Islamic republic; he received a five-year prison sentence following the 2022 protests.
Her father was the president of Iran from 1989 to 1997 and was known particularly for being pro-engagement with the West.
