Iran Used Hypersonic Fattah Missiles To Attack Israel: How Powerful Are They? All You Need to Know
Iran Used Hypersonic Fattah Missiles To Attack Israel: Iran used hypersonic Fattah missiles for the first time, and 90% of its missiles successfully hit their targets in Israel, said Reuters quoting Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
What Are Hypersonic Fattah Missiles?
According to media reports, Iran unveiled the Fattah missile in June last year. The country claimed that these missiles were hypersonic with the ability to hit speeds of Mach 13-15 (16,052-18,522 kmph).
The precision-guided missile Fattah has a range of 1,400 kilometers. It is believed to have maneuverability and 'stealth ability' to pass through radar systems. Iran revealed its first such missile, 'Fattah-1' in June 2023 and 'Fattah-2' in November 2023.
According to Iranian media, no advanced US or Israeli air defense system can intercept 'Fattah' missile.
Notably, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel on Tuesday in a major escalation in the raging conflict in the Middle East. According to state media, more than 180 missiles were launched towards Israel. The Times of Israel reported that sirens continue to sound across Israel amid the attack.
Iran’s state media has also confirmed the Iranian attack towards Israel. Tasnim, Iran’s semi-official news agency, reported Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying that Iran has told the United States not to get involved following its missile attack on Israel.
