Michael Bennet Praised Joe Biden

During their exchange, Bennet praised Biden's speech and encouraged him to persist in addressing the escalating humanitarian concerns in Gaza with Netanyahu. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg were also present during this brief conversation.

In response, Biden, using Netanyahu's nickname "Bibi," disclosed, "I told him, Bibi, and don't repeat this, but you and I are going to have a come-to-Jesus meeting." A nearby aide then quietly alerted Biden to the fact that microphones were still active, underscoring the sensitivity of the discussion.

After being alerted, Biden said, "I'm on a hot mic here," followed by a casual remark, "Good. That's good."

The president playfully acknowledged the comments the following Friday, jokingly teasing reporters for "eavesdropping" on his conversation. When queried about whether he believed Netanyahu should be doing more to mitigate the humanitarian suffering, Biden affirmed, "Yes, he does."

What Is Happening In Gaza?

A deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, compounded by stringent Israeli control over aid shipments, has resulted in severe food shortages affecting nearly the entire population, according to the United Nations. For months, officials have been issuing warnings that Israel's blockade and military actions are exacerbating the situation, pushing the Palestinian territory perilously close to famine.
