Man Dies From Organ Failure After Working For Straight 104 Days With Just One Day Off

China: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old Chinese man died from organ failure, following straight 104 days of work with just one day's rest. As per the South China Morning Post, the man named A'bao who worked as a painter, contracted a pneumococcal infection, resulting in his death in June. The court found that A'bao's employer was 20 percent liable for his death, triggering outrage about unhealthy labour conditions in the country.

What Exactly Happened With The Chinese Employee?

It is significant to note that A'bao has signed a contract with the company in February 2023, agreeing to work on a project until January 2024.

As per reports, the chinese man was assigned to a task at Zhoushan city in China. Following the agreement, he commenced his demanding work schedule, working for straight 104 days from February till May last year. Notably, he just took a day's rest on April 6.  

A'bao ended up taking a sick leave on May 25. However, his health worsened with time and on May 28, his colleagues took him to a hospital where the doctors confirmed a lung infection and respiratory failure. The exhausting work led to his death on June 1.
