A US military helicopter made an emergency landing in a rice paddy in Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo, on Saturday, according to NHK. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as confirmed by the local fire department.

In a related development, the Pentagon has announced plans to increase its military presence in the Middle East. This move includes deploying additional warships and fighter jets to safeguard U.S. personnel and defend Israel amidst rising regional tensions. The decision follows recent retaliatory strikes by Iran and its allies in response to the killing of a Hamas leader in Tehran and a Hezbollah commander in Beirut.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh emphasized the U.S. commitment to protecting its interests and allies, stating, 'The Department of Defense continues to take steps to mitigate the possibility of regional escalation by Iran or its proxies.' The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group will replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the region, and additional ballistic missile defense-capable ships and a new fighter squadron will be deployed.
