Hyderabad: Making Reels In Police Station Premises Lands Influencers In Trouble, Police Takes Action

Hyderabad police has warned influencers from filming videos within the police premises and also instructed the station staff to prevent such incidents. The decision came after few videos that were shot around police premises came to light.

The police registered cases against some people after they posted videos on Youtube that featured premises of police station. On Friday, Uppal police had booked three influencers for filming reels. The 23 seconds video featured two persons including a comedy actor. Uppal station house officer said the case was filed on the directions of Malkajgiri ACP S. Chakrapani. The ACP said strict action would be taken against those engaging in disruptive and unruly conduct towards law enforcement authorities.

An Information Technology (IT) wing official said, "A special team is closely monitoring the content on social media. In the latest incidents of miscreants posting reels, the police wrote to the social media sites to block such content and remove the videos”. They had noticed several pictures, videos and other content in which the police were being abused and the department was being slandered.

There has been growing trend of social media influencers filming reels and videos at prohibited places despite a warning. And, Hyderabad Police has come down severely on such people.
