Mumbai: Minor Girl Molested On CSMT-Chennai Express by 22-Year-Old Man
In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a minor girl in CSMT-Chennai Express train. The accused has been arrested by the Railway police and case has been registered under the POCSO act.
According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday in CSMT-Chennai Express train when it was about to depart from Mumbai. The accused has been identified as S Ragvendra, who tried to touch the girl in inappropriate manner when she was standing near the doors. The incident came to light after the girl complained to her grandmother.
"Accused S Ragvendra touched the girl's back. She slapped him but he still put his hand around her waist. The girl raised an alarm after which he was apprehended by the ticket checker and co-passengers. She filed a complaint while the train was traveling between Karjat and Pune”, said the police officer.
The accused has been taken into judicial custody for 14 days, added Karjat Police Station official.
