Kannada Actor Detained In Connection With Murder Of Man Who 'Texted' His Wife
Bengaluru: Today in Bengaluru, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was detained by the police for questioning about a man's alleged murder. His wife Pavithra Gowda and 10 others were also detained in connection with the case.
The 47-year-old actor was picked up from his farmhouse in Mysuru because he was suspected of being involved in the case and was brought back to Bengaluru.
Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old who worked at an Apollo Pharmacy in Chitradurga, was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. She reportedly sent hurtful messages to Darshan's wife.
Swamy's parents had reported his missing, but the police asked them to wait for 2 more days (even though only 1 day had passed). The murder was reported on June 9, and a case was filed.

The actor was taken into custody based on a complaint from Swamy's mother. The police are still investigating to find out if Darshan was directly involved in the murder or part of a plan. The police have increased security at Darshan's house in RR Nagar
