At the 'Celebration of Women' event, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, strongly referenced Meghan Markle to acknowledge the significant contributions women have made in all walks of life.

Despite their successful three-day trip to Nigeria, Meghan and Prince Harry faced backlash for several reasons. Critics slammed Meghan for her dress, and Harry was criticized for scolding King Charles.

During her "unforgettable" trip to Nigeria, Meghan wore various outfits while she and Harry met with the country's top officials and residents.

Despite spending around £120,000 on jewelry and new clothes to maintain a flawless appearance, Nigeria's first lady seems to have taken offense to her fashion.

In a speech commemorating President Bola Tinubu's first year in office, the First Lady emphasized to the gathering that Nigerian youths risk losing their identity if appropriate measures are not taken.

In a speech aired on Arise News and posted on X, she said, "We don't have a Met Gala. Nudity is everywhere while men are well-dressed. So, we have to do something. Tell them we're not accepting it. Nudity is not accepted in our culture. It is not beautiful. It's not pretty at all."

Tinubu stressed that both men and women must be confident in who they are, arguing that Nigerian children do not need to imitate American movie stars. She said, "They don't know where they come from. Why did Meghan come here to look for Africa? We know who we are. Don't lose who you are."

She emphasized that we should save our children from the way they dress, adding, "They keep forgetting that Nigeria, we are beautiful."

After the Nigerian First Lady's speech, one X royal fan wrote, "Meghan Markle managed to cause an international incident! We warned her about the clothes."

Another person wrote, "I'm glad the First Lady sees how some visitors choose to disrespect the Nigerian people and culture. It was shameful to dress like that, especially in the presence of children. This is Meghan and Harry's behavior. They need to stop using Nigeria and Africa as a PR tool."

Meanwhile, a supporter of the Duchess hit back, saying, "Do us a favor and leave Meghan alone."

The royal couple has been invited by Nigeria's top military official to promote some of Harry and Meghan's most passionate causes, including the Invictus Games. During her visit, Meghan signed a guest book at the headquarters of the Nigerian Defense Force after meeting with officer Christopher Musa and thanked the officials for welcoming her home.
