A tragic incident unfolded in Andhra Pradesh killing three people and leaving two critically injured as their speeding car hit a lorry near Musunur Toll Plaza in Kavali Rural Mandal, in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore.

According to the police officials, the deceased and the injured were returning from Chennai, Tamil Nadu when the incident occurred.

Upon being informed, law enforcement promptly arrived at the location and expedited the transfer of the injured individuals to Samisa Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Regrettably, among the casualties were two women identified as residents of Koyyalagudem in West Godavari district. According to reports, the women were returning from Chennai after buying imitation gold when the accident occurred.

An inquiry into the incident has been launched by the police, who have also filed a case. The two injured persons are reportedly in critical condition, and efforts are underway to ensure they receive essential medical attention.

Meanwhile, a similar incident took place on April 23 in Hyderabad where a woman and her husband tragically died in a road accident at Mukundapuram in Suryapet district, shortly after celebrating her birthday. Their car collided with a stationary container truck on the national highway, resulting in severe damage. Despite efforts by police using cranes and JCBs, it took nearly two hours to extricate the badly damaged car. Unfortunately, the couple, identified as S Naveen Raj, 29, and his wife Bhargavi, 27, did not survive the accident.
