Today, there was a clash between BJP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders in Telangana over the decision of former BRS MLA Aroori Ramesh to join the BJP. BRS leaders allegedly barged into Ramesh's home to dissuade him from joining the BJP after he had met with Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy the day before. Despite this, Ramesh confirmed his plan to join the BJP later in the day.

During a press conference where he announced his resignation from the BRS, former state minister Errabelli Dayakar and his associates interrupted and purportedly attempted to persuade Mr. Ramesh against joining the BJP. They allegedly facilitated a phone conversation between Mr. Ramesh and BRS leader Harish Rao and then reportedly coerced Mr. Ramesh into a car to transport him to Hyderabad, where senior BRS leaders, including Mr. Rao and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, were said to be waiting.

Shortly after, supporters of both BRS and BJP clashed outside Mr. Ramesh's residence when rumors spread that he had been purportedly 'kidnapped' by the BRS.

Footage shows Mr. Ramesh being forcibly removed from a car with Errabelli Dayakar seated in the front seat. The vehicle was reportedly halted by BJP supporters, preventing it from proceeding towards Hyderabad. Upon intervention by BJP supporters, Mr. Ramesh was made to speak to the state BJP chief in front of cameras, where he expressed his intention to inform the BRS leadership about his resignation. Visuals revealed that the former MLA's shirt had been torn during the scuffle, and he appeared distressed and uncertain about the unfolding events.

The BRS has faced challenges in finding candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, having lost three MPs recently - one to the Congress and two to the BJP. Additionally, Ranjith Reddy from Chevella has expressed his reluctance to contest. The BRS had reportedly considered fielding Mr. Ramesh from Warangal, but the BJP had also extended the same offer, and he chose to align with the ruling party at the Centre.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Ramesh stated that he felt humiliated within the BRS despite previously winning with a significant majority and expressed his desire to move forward with a different political affiliation.
