Investigators in the shocking rape and murder case of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata have released a crucial CCTV image showing the suspect, Sanjay Roy, entering the hospital shortly after midnight. The footage, recorded at 1:03 am, shows Roy wearing a Bluetooth earphone around his neck. This earphone was later discovered at the crime scene, connecting him to the incident.

Suspect’s Admission and Timeline

According to sources, Sanjay Roy admitted to the crime after being confronted with the CCTV evidence during police interrogation. Investigations revealed that prior to arriving at the hospital, Roy had visited two brothels in Kolkata’s red-light district, Sonagachi, on the night of August 8. He drank alcohol and visited the brothels before heading to the hospital, where he was seen entering and exiting the seminar hall where the victim had gone to sleep.

Additionally, the court has granted permission for a lie-detection test on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, and four other doctors who were on duty on the night of the crime.
