Andhra Pradesh: A disturbing video has surfaced showing a man violently assaulting a woman doctor in the emergency room at SVIMS Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, once again raising concerns about the safety of healthcare professionals. The video captures a drunk patient grabbing the intern doctor by her hair and repeatedly banging her head against a steel frame inside the hospital.

The attack occurred inside the emergency room, where the intern was working when the man, identified as Bangaru Raju, assaulted her. The video, which has gone viral, shows other doctors rushing to the woman’s aid, restraining the attacker before he could inflict further harm.

The intern later wrote a letter to SVIMS director Dr. RV Kumar, explaining that the absence of security personnel during the incident left her vulnerable. She expressed fear that if the attacker had been armed, the situation could have been far worse.
