Greater Noida: The Uttar Pradesh Police in Greater Noida arrested a teen for allegedly molesting a minor girl. The incident occurred in Ecotech-3. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against him under the relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

About The Incident
The father revealed the incident and told the Police that on September 8 his daughter was alone at the residence after the couple went to their work. A teen boy who is his neighbour came to the house and molested his daughter. Soon the boy left the spot and left the girl crying. Children know each other as they were in the same locality.

Parents' Complaint In CWC
After that, the victim's parents filed a complaint before the Child Welfare Committee explaining the assault. The CWC then forwarded the complaint to the local police, based on which an immediate investigation was started, The accused teenager was then taken into police custody and interrogated.

Shakti Avasthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida told HT that the parents of the children are daily wage workers.

Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita
After the FIR against the boy was filed in "Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty" under Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita and applicable sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.

The investigation will be made into the affirmation by the victim as the committee had redirected the parents' complaint to the police station, said the CWC chairperson.

The accused teen was sent back to his home from police custody and the legal procedures and probe are underway.
