Maharashtra: 1 Dead, Over 75 Sick Due To Food Poisoning In Chandrapur

A health official reported that food poisoning in the Majri colliery area of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra caused one death and affected over 75 individuals on Sunday.

He mentioned that the incident took place after more than 400 people consumed 'prasad' during a religious function at a Kali temple on Saturday evening, marking the eve of Chaitra Navratri Mahotsav.

What did the Maharashtra official say?

According to the official, after returning home, some individuals began feeling unwell, leading to 79 people arriving at Warora civil hospital past midnight. Medical personnel identified six individuals with critical conditions and transferred them to Chandrapur District Hospital. Among them, a man named Gurufem Yadav succumbed to the illness.

He added that medical personnel are treating the other patients, who are currently in stable condition.
