PIB Fact Check: Don't Fall for Scams โ Report Them Using CHAKSHU; Here's How To Do It
PIB FACT-CHECK: Through a recent X post, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has urged all citizens to report fraudulent communications with CHAKSHU and protect themselves from scams.
It stated, "Have you recently come across any ๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ, or ๐๐ก๐๐ญ๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ messages related toย KYC expiry, SIM/Gas/Electricity connections, or impersonations of government officials?" It is crucial to take prompt action and report these fraudulent communications, PIB added.

To report fraudulent communications, follow these three simple steps:
1. Visit the CHAKSHU Facility and access the Sanchar Sathi Portal
2. Provide details: Enter the details of the fraudulent communication
3. Submit the report: Complete the last step by submitting your report.
About The Chakshu Portal
The Chakshu Portal and Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) was launched by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw via virtual conferencing in March 2024 to protect the citizens from fraudulent communications.
Vaishnaw stated that the public could report all fraud SMS, Calls, or other related scams through the Sanchar Saathi portal.
So far, the portal has contributed to the recovery of over seven lakh lost and stolen phones. It was launched last year.
