Fast food can be tempting, but it comes with risks like weight gain and health problems, especially if eaten often. To explore these negative effects, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock decided to eat only McDonald’s food for 30 days. He had three meals a day and tried everything on the menu, while three doctors monitored his health. Spurlock documented his experience and released a film about the fast food industry, which earned an Oscar nomination in 2005. Although he started off healthy, his health worsened during the challenge. By the end, he had gained over 11 kg and faced serious health issues.

According to the filmmaker, "In 2002, some Americans, tired of being overweight, decided to take action by suing fast-food companies. A lawsuit was filed in New York on behalf of two teenage girls—one 14 years old, 4’10" tall, and weighing 170 pounds, and the other 19 years old, 5’6" tall, and weighing 270 pounds. This marked an unusual moment where people began suing fast-food chains for selling food that everyone knows isn’t healthy."

During the experiment, Morgan Spurlock felt many discomforts. He felt extremely hungry before each meal, had trouble breathing halfway through, and was very full by the end, which he called "McGas" and "McStomachache." Despite this, he felt hungry again within a few hours and had difficulty sleeping.

The documentary "Super Size Me" was made with a budget of $65,000 (about Rs 54 lakh) but earned $22 million (around Rs 184 crore). It drew significant attention at the time. McDonald’s first called the film a “super-sized distortion of the truth.” However, after the film's release, the chain decided to remove the Supersize option from their menu.
