YouTubers Dhruv Rathee and Gaurav Taneja clashed over Spiritual guru Jagadish Vasudev's India vs. Bharat debate .

Spiritual guru Jagadish Vasudev recently weighed in on the India vs. Bharat debate by resharing an October 2023 post. This post announced the NCERT Committee's initial recommendation to replace 'India' with 'Bharat' in textbooks. Vasudev encouraged people to use 'Bharat' in everyday language, linking 'India' to British colonial rule and stating that the term 'India' has 'no meaning.' The Isha Foundation founder emphasized that younger generations should know that Bharat existed long before India. Since being shared on June 18, the post has garnered over 1.5 million views.

In response to Jagadish Vasudev’s comment, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee remarked, 'Mr. Jagadish Vasudev, can you cease your anti-India agenda? It is well-known that both India and Bharat are mentioned in our constitution, yet you are engaging in this divisive political game.'

YouTuber Gaurav Taneja posted a screenshot of Dhruv Rathee’s comment, asking, 'Why can’t different opinions coexist on the internet? Why do some people want to control all online content?' Although Dhruv Rathee is Indian, critics often label him a 'foreigner.' Rathee, originally from Rohtak in Haryana, has previously clarified that he is Indian, whereas his wife is German.

Dhruv Rathee responded by criticizing Gaurav Taneja for his declining YouTube engagement, stating, 'No controversy can save your dying career, Gaurav, not even using your kids for drama. You need to create valuable content for that. If you need help, let me recommend my YouTube Blueprint course. Good luck :)'

Amid the ongoing debate on X regarding the India vs Bharat issue, NCERT has clarified its position. On Monday, June 17, NCERT director Dinesh Prasad Saklani informed PTI that both 'India' and 'Bharat' will be used interchangeably in NCERT books, as stated in the constitution. He explained, 'We will use 'India' or 'Bharat' wherever appropriate. We have no preference for either term.” He further added, 'Both terms are already present in our textbooks, and this will continue in future editions. This debate is pointless.'
