Telangana man dies in Saudi Arabia

A 27-year-old man from Telangana, Shahbaz Khan, and his colleague tragically lost their lives after getting stranded in the Ruba al-Khali desert in Saudi Arabia. Known as one of the most dangerous deserts in the world, the vast expanse claimed the lives of the duo when a GPS malfunction led them off course during a routine work assignment.

Shahbaz Khan, who hailed from Karimnagar and had been working in Saudi Arabia for three years, was employed as a tower technician for a telecom company in the Al Hasa region. Five days ago, he and his colleague set out for a job, but their GPS failed, guiding them into the heart of the Ruba al-Khali desert, also known as the Empty Quarter.

GPS Malfunction

With their GPS system malfunctioning, the two men were unable to navigate and soon ran out of fuel. Stranded in the scorching heat with no phone signal, they were left without any means of communication. The harsh desert conditions, absence of wildlife, and lack of water or food quickly became overwhelming.

Despite their efforts to survive, both men succumbed to dehydration and exhaustion. Saudi authorities launched a search operation after the pair was reported missing by their company, but by the time they were found, they had already passed away.
